Database Applications Developer - II

America Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions partner for companies in industrial, manufacturing, and waste management sectors.
We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management.

Our founders are experienced telecommunications engineers with over 200 years of combined expertise in designing, optimizing, and performance engineering for international wireless carriers. They identified a need for low-power, cost-efficient sensors to collect data, generate alerts, and predict actions. We integrate these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to help clients reduce ongoing costs associated with IoT sensor networks and connected devices.

We specialize in designing, deploying, optimizing, and supporting these networks. Whether off-the-shelf or custom solutions are needed, we create tailored solutions and deploy data on the most suitable cloud platform, including client-owned options.

Responsibilities:
- Planning, building, implementing, and administering Python scripts to test and deploy No

SQL clusters, including scripting for database performance validation.
- Ensuring optimal database performance through proactive testing and real-time monitoring.
- Troubleshooting issues to resolution.
- Testing database security and enterprise policy compliance according to best practices.
- Monitoring and maintaining backups for database recoverability across all production databases.
- Collaborating with engineers and vendor resources to implement fixes within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a No

SQL DBA supporting databases such as Cassandra, Mongo

DB, Couchbase, or Redis.
- At least 2 years of DBA experience in an enterprise environment supporting multi-tier architectures.
- Strong skills in monitoring and tuning No

SQL databases for performance and capacity planning.
- Minimum 2 years of Linux experience for designing high-performance environments.
- 2+ years of scripting experience in Python and Shell.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience supporting database applications in a commercial environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of RDBMS such as MySQL, Maria

DB, MemSQL, or Postgre

SQL is a plus.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; military experience relevant.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work on Change Control Windows regularly.
- Eagerness to learn new databases, tools, and technologies.
