Associate Creative Director

We're Mallard Agency, a brand, marketing, and video studio in Southlake, Texas, built around one idea: ordinary businesses can become extraordinary brands. We partner with mid‑market companies facing one of two problems: a brand that hasn't kept up with the rest of the business, or a marketing plan that's in chaos. Our team steps in as true leaders, guiding clients through our framework, The Flightplan, which begins with strategy, moves into creative production, and finishes with comprehensive marketing execution.

Our core purpose is to help people love what they're building, personally and professionally. So far, we've done that for over 150 clients, and we're just getting started.

• Lead Mallard's creative department and set the bar for quality
• Manage two direct reports and all freelance creatives
• Provide clear creative direction across every project
• Develop creative concepts rooted in each client's brand and marketing strategy
• Review, give feedback on, and approve all creative team work
• Design brand identities, websites, and marketing assets alongside our lead designer
• Write copy for key campaigns, presentations, and brand identity projects
• Create original treatments for brand films, commercials, and campaign videos
• Attend video and photo shoots, leading or supporting as needed
• Present creative work to clients, in person and virtually
• Contribute creative ideas and help develop new business pitches
• Deliver projects on time while raising the agency's creative standard
• Keep project management software updated throughout the creative process
• Maintain organized creative files on the company server
• Represent Mallard at industry and client events
• Guide thoughtful use of AI within the creative process
• Other duties as assigned

• 5+ years of agency or in-house creative team experience
• Proven experience leading and developing a creative team
• Extensive graphic design and art direction experience
• Working experience in branding, video production, and copywriting
• Strong creative vision grounded in business objectives
• A current portfolio showing a wide range of creative work
• Excellent communication and client presentation skills
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Slack, Google Workspace, and Excel
• Experience with Teamwork or similar project management software
