We’re seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Advisor Services Client Experience Engineering organization. This role will help shape and deliver next-generation digital experiences that support key advisor and client journeys across Charles Schwab’s platforms.

As a member of a highly collaborative Agile team, you’ll design and build modern web applications, APIs, and cloud-enabled services while helping drive engineering excellence through automation, observability, AI-assisted development, and modern architecture patterns.

This is an opportunity to work on business-critical applications that directly impact client experience, advisor productivity, and Schwab’s digital transformation initiatives.

You’ll have the autonomy to influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and help modernize how software is built, tested, and deployed.

What You’ll Do

Build Innovative Digital Experiences

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable web applications and APIs
• Deliver modern user experiences using Angular, Type Script, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Build resilient backend services using .NET/C# and RESTful APIs
• Develop solutions that prioritize reliability, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainability

Drive Engineering Excellence

• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through production support
• Champion test automation, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and Dev Sec Ops  practices
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
• Continuously improve application stability, performance, and user experience
• Leverage modern AI-powered developer tools to enhance productivity and innovation

Collaborate and Lead

• Partner closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
• Help establish engineering best practices and technical standards
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and product planning activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience supporting all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience building modern web applications using:

• Angular (v19+ preferred)
• Type Script and Java Script
• HTML5 and CSS3
• .NET / C#

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and Web Services
• Experience creating scalable application designs and translating requirements into technical solutions
