Paid to Scale Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a secondary school in Southport to recruit an English Teacher for an immediate start. This is a full-time position continuing until the end of the academic year, paid to scale in line with your experience.

The school is seeking a committed English specialist to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

The Role

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong progress and outcomes

Assess, monitor and track student performance effectively

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

A clear understanding of the GCSE English Language and Literature curriculum

An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
