Assistant Financial Controller

Assistant Financial Controller – Southwell – Up to £38,000

Chase & Holland are delighted to be supporting a growing and innovative business operating within the sustainability sector, as they look to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to join their friendly and forward-thinking finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, helping to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available across the organisation.

The Role:

Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments and journals
Carrying out bank reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and budgeting
Managing day-to-day credit control and customer debt collection
Raising sales invoices and payment applications
Processing purchase orders, supplier invoices, payments and receipts
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the order book is kept up to date
Supporting payroll and VAT preparation, processing and reconciliation
Producing reports and presenting key financial information to managers and directors
Maintaining customer and supplier accounts within the accounting system
Supporting the Financial Controller with wider finance projects and ad-hoc reports
Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure a smooth financial process from order through to payment

About You:

Proven experience within a similar role
Minimum AAT Level 4 or equivalent, or substantial relevant finance experience
Strong experience across Excel and accounting systems
Good understanding of transactional finance and management accounting
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
A proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused approach
