Site Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent Site Civil Engineer to oversee construction activities for infrastructure projects in the Soweto vicinity. This on-site role is crucial for ensuring that construction is executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. You will act as the primary engineering point of contact on site, resolving technical challenges and managing the civil works component of the project effectively.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and dedicated to delivering high-quality construction outcomes.

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering aspects of construction projects on site.
• Ensure construction work adheres strictly to engineering designs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress monitoring, identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Manage site logistics, equipment, and labor force for civil works.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and material testing results.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in site supervision and construction management.
• Proven experience in managing civil works on infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills for on-site coordination.
