Site Engineer - Residential Developments

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to support their residential development projects in Soweto . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of construction activities on site, bridging the gap between design and implementation. You will be responsible for supervising construction work, managing resources, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses practical construction knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a project team, contributing to the delivery of quality housing and community infrastructure in the area.

This is an excellent entry-level engineering role for recent graduates or those with a few years of site experience.

• Supervise and direct site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work is carried out according to plans and specifications.
• Manage site logistics, including material delivery, equipment, and temporary works.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on site, conducting regular safety inspections.
• Perform quality control checks on construction activities and materials.
• Prepare daily site reports, track progress, and identify potential delays or issues.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1-3 years of experience in site supervision or as a junior engineer on construction projects.
• Understanding of basic construction methods, materials, and site safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with various teams.
• Proficiency in basic computer software, including MS Office.
