Our client is seeking an eager and diligent Junior Civil Engineer to provide essential construction support for projects in and around Soweto . This is an ideal entry-level position for a recent graduate to gain practical experience on construction sites, working closely with site managers, foremen, and skilled trades. You will assist in interpreting drawings, ensuring adherence to specifications, quality control, and resolving site-based technical challenges.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the practical application of civil engineering principles in a hands-on environment.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for site personnel.
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure construction activities meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in resolving site-related technical issues and RFI (Request for Information) processes.
- Prepare daily site reports, track progress, and document site activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on construction or site support.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
