Senior Civil Infrastructure Manager

Our client, a leading developer of large-scale urban and commercial infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Manager to oversee their projects. This position is based in Soweto , Gauteng, and requires the candidate to be fully present on-site and in the office for project oversight and management. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bulk services (water, sewer), and stormwater systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, contract administration, and managing multidisciplinary teams in a construction environment. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is critical to the successful development of key infrastructure within the region.

• Manage all phases of civil infrastructure projects, from feasibility and design through to construction and handover.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Administer construction contracts, manage variations, and resolve contractual disputes.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, site staff, and contractors.
• Liaise effectively with clients, government authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor performance and address issues.
• Manage risk, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure effective problem-solving on site.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and financial forecasts.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.).
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in contract administration (FIDIC, JBCC, or similar).
• Strong understanding of South African infrastructure development processes and regulations.
• Expertise in project management methodologies and software.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage complex challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
