Architectural Intern - Sustainable Design

A progressive architectural firm dedicated to sustainable design practices, located in Soweto , Gauteng , is offering a paid internship for an Architectural Intern focused on sustainability. This role is an exceptional chance for a student or recent graduate to gain practical experience in eco-friendly design principles and their application in real-world projects. You will support senior architects in research, design development, and documentation, contributing to projects that prioritize environmental responsibility.

The internship is based in our Soweto office, fostering hands-on learning and professional development.

• Assist in researching sustainable materials, technologies, and building strategies.
• Support the design team in developing energy-efficient and environmentally conscious architectural solutions.
• Prepare documentation and presentations related to sustainable design features.
• Participate in design charrettes and team meetings, contributing ideas and insights.
• Learn and apply relevant green building rating systems (e.g., EDGE, Green Star).

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Architecture program.
• Passion for and foundational knowledge of sustainable architecture and environmental design.
• Familiarity with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is advantageous.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dedicated team environment.
