Junior Energy Systems Operator

Our client is looking for an eager and technically inclined Junior Energy Systems Operator to join their operations center in Soweto . This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the energy sector to gain hands-on experience in monitoring and managing energy generation and distribution systems. You will work under the supervision of experienced operators, contributing to the reliable and efficient delivery of power.

This role requires a dedicated individual who can work shifts and contribute to a critical operational function within the Gauteng area.

• Monitor energy generation and distribution systems via SCADA and other control interfaces.
• Respond to alarms and system events, escalating issues as necessary according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs of system operations, disturbances, and corrective actions.
• Assist in the execution of planned operational tasks and minor system adjustments.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and operational protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to develop expertise in energy system operations.
• Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, field crews, and other relevant personnel.

• National Diploma or N6 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A strong interest in the energy sector and a willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and power systems is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
