Field Service Technician - Solar PV

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician specializing in Solar PV systems to join their team in Soweto. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) systems at various client sites. This hands-on role requires strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and excellent problem-solving skills. You will work directly with customers to ensure their solar energy systems are operating efficiently and reliably.

This is a vital position supporting the growth of renewable energy adoption in the community.

• Install, commission, and test solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, and mounting hardware.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on existing solar installations.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with solar PV systems.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to clients.

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Technical certification in Electrical or Renewable Energy is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Technician, with specific experience in Solar PV installations and maintenance.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of solar energy systems and their components.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and electrical codes (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
