Job Overview

The Marine Renewable Energy Project Engineer will lead the technical planning, design, and execution of offshore and marine renewable projects, ranging from floating wind turbines to tidal energy installations. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including marine architects, electrical engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory bodies. The engineer will be responsible for translating project concepts into detailed engineering packages, ensuring compliance with international standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive engineering designs for marine renewable installations, including foundations, mooring systems, and power transmission.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analyses to inform project selection and design optimization.
  • Coordinate with marine surveyors, environmental consultants, and local authorities to secure permits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of technical specifications, procurement packages, and vendor evaluations.
  • Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning phases, providing on‑site technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics, reporting progress to senior management.
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the engineering department.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, offshore structures, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as ANSYS, Orca Flex, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to interpret and apply international standards (IEC, DNV‑GL, ISO) related to offshore energy.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
