Civil Engineer - Drainage and Stormwater

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer focused on Drainage and Stormwater management to join their team in Soweto . This role is integral to designing and implementing effective solutions for urban runoff, flood control, and water quality management. • Design stormwater management systems, including culverts, channels, detention basins, and infiltration systems.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for watershed management and flood risk assessments.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for drainage infrastructure.
• Develop erosion and sediment control plans for construction sites.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain permits and approvals for drainage projects.
• Provide technical support during construction to ensure proper implementation of drainage designs.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience specifically in drainage and stormwater management design.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, fluid mechanics, and open channel flow.
• Familiarity with relevant local and national stormwater regulations.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
