About the Role

Our client is seeking a practical and diligent Civil Site Engineer to manage construction activities for various infrastructure projects in and around Soweto. This role requires a hands-on approach to overseeing site operations, ensuring that construction proceeds according to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will be the primary point of contact on-site, coordinating with contractors, managing resources, and resolving on-the-ground challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain extensive site experience and contribute directly to the development of essential infrastructure in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage day-to-day construction activities on civil engineering sites.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with approved project plans, specifications, and method statements.
  • Monitor construction quality, safety, and environmental compliance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the client's representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress logs, and material records.
  • Identify and resolve site-specific technical issues and challenges in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering construction supervision or site engineering.
  • A Candidate Engineer (C.Eng) or Technologist (M.Eng Tech) registration with ECSA is preferred.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills essential for working in Soweto.
