About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Mechanical Draughtsperson to join their busy team in Soweto . This role is crucial for translating engineering concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation required for manufacturing and construction. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, providing essential support in the detailed design phase. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of drafting standards, and proficiency in CAD software.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated draughtsperson to contribute to significant projects within a growing company that values accuracy and technical proficiency.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and schematics for mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant industry standards, company specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to review and refine designs, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other necessary documentation for manufacturing and procurement.
- Maintain and organize drawing archives, ensuring revisions and updates are managed effectively.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation for project proposals and reports.
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant certification in CAD drafting.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsperson or similar role.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Inventor.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and drafting conventions.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
