Mechanical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the manufacturing sector located in Soweto , is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Process Engineer . This role focuses on optimizing and refining the mechanical processes involved in production, aiming for enhanced efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements through the application of sound mechanical engineering principles. The position involves a hybrid work model, fostering collaboration while allowing for focused independent work, contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations and technological advancement.

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for mechanical optimization and efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement process improvements, including the design or modification of mechanical equipment.
• Create process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth process operation and resolve technical issues.
• Monitor key process performance indicators and report on findings and recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes , fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
