About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to join their team in Soweto . This role is vital for translating engineering designs into precise technical drawings and documentation required for manufacturing. You will work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of all drafted components and assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled drafter to contribute to diverse projects within a supportive engineering environment in Gauteng .

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software .
• Prepare precise manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Assist engineers in developing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensuring drawing revision control.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to drafting standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing personnel to resolve any drafting-related queries or issues.

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Drafter.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solid Works is essential.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
