Industrial Engineer - Facilities and Layout Design

Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer specializing in facilities and layout design to join their team in Soweto . This role is responsible for the design, planning, and optimization of manufacturing facility layouts, material flow, and workspace utilization. You will play a key role in ensuring that our operational spaces are efficient, safe, and conducive to maximum productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility planning and a keen eye for optimizing workflows and resource allocation within an industrial setting in Gauteng .

• Design and optimize plant layouts, workstations, and material handling systems for maximum efficiency and safety.
• Develop and maintain flow charts , process maps, and facility layouts using CAD and simulation software.
• Analyze space requirements and ensure optimal utilization of production and warehousing areas.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to implement layout changes.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement improvements to enhance worker comfort and productivity.
• Plan and manage facility modifications and expansions to support business growth.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in industrial engineering , with a specialization in facility and layout design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation tools for layout planning.
• Experience with material flow analysis and optimization.
• Strong understanding of safety and ergonomic principles in industrial environments.
