Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Our client is seeking a diligent Electrical Engineer with expertise in Building Services to join their team in Soweto . This role is responsible for the design, installation, and management of electrical systems within commercial and residential buildings. You will ensure that all electrical installations are safe, efficient, and meet the required standards. Operating in a hybrid model, this position allows for a blend of office-based design work and on-site project oversight.

Contribute to the development of functional and sustainable built environments within the vibrant Gauteng community.

• Design electrical systems for new buildings and refurbishments, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural and mechanical engineering plans.
• Oversee site inspections during installation to ensure quality and compliance.
• Conduct electrical load calculations and ensure systems are energy-efficient.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during the construction and commissioning phases.

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering .
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in building services electrical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical drafting.
• Good understanding of building codes, standards (e.g., SANS 10142), and safety regulations.
• Experience with lighting design software is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment , balancing office and site responsibilities.
