Process Superintendent - Mineral Processing

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Process Superintendent to lead their mineral processing plant operations near Soweto. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plant's daily operations, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and safety in the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals. You will manage a team of metallurgists, operators, and technicians, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with production targets and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in metallurgy and mineral processing, coupled with excellent leadership and operational management skills.

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the mineral processing plant, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and dewatering circuits.
• Ensure that production targets for grade, recovery, and throughput are met efficiently and safely.
• Develop, implement, and monitor operational procedures and best practices.
• Manage and mentor plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and laboratory teams to optimize plant performance and troubleshoot issues.

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing operations, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale mineral processing plants and diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of flotation, leaching, gravity separation, and other relevant metallurgical processes.
• Strong understanding of process control systems and operational safety principles.
