Industrial Engineer - Facility Layout

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Engineer specializing in Facility Layout to optimize operations at their site in Soweto . This role is critical for designing efficient and safe physical layouts for manufacturing plants, warehouses, and operational areas. You will be responsible for analyzing material flow, workstation design, and overall space utilization to maximize productivity and minimize operational costs. The successful candidate will possess strong spatial reasoning, proficiency in CAD and simulation software, and a deep understanding of ergonomics and safety principles within an industrial context.

• Design and optimize facility layouts to improve material flow, reduce travel distances, and enhance productivity.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) for layout design and visualization.
• Develop simulation models to test proposed layouts and evaluate their impact on operations.
• Analyze workstation design for ergonomics, safety, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure layouts meet operational and regulatory requirements.
• Develop recommendations for equipment placement and workflow optimization within new or existing facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in facility layout design and industrial engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software for creating and modifying facility layouts.
• Experience with simulation software for analyzing material flow and operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of ergonomics, safety standards, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills required for operations in Soweto .
