Senior Aviation Safety Manager

You will be responsible for risk assessment, incident investigation, safety promotion, and regulatory compliance. • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive safety risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified hazards.
• Lead and manage incident and accident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of personnel.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization through proactive communication and engagement.
• Monitor safety performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., SACAA) on safety matters and audits.
• Manage the safety reporting system and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide expert advice on safety-related matters to senior management and operational teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in aviation safety management, with a strong focus on developing and implementing SMS.
• Possession of relevant professional safety certifications (e.g., ISAGO, IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations).
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety management principles, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding and sensitive environment in Soweto, Gauteng, ZA

• Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
• Must have legal authorization to work in South Africa.
