- Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
- Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection using specialized software (e.g., HAP, Revit MEP).
- Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for HVAC installations.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated building designs.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, provide installation support, and perform system commissioning.
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and client requirements.
- Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and propose effective solutions.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to HVAC design and performance.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, trends, and sustainability practices.
- Assist in project bidding and proposal development as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC systems design.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics as applied to HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of building codes and energy efficiency standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience with sustainable building design principles (e.g., LEED) is a plus.
- Must hold valid work authorization for South Africa .
