• Evaluate mortgage loan applications, including analysis of credit history, income, assets, and property valuations.
• Determine loan eligibility and conformity with established underwriting guidelines and company policies.

• Communicate loan decisions and required conditions to loan officers and applicants.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state lending regulations.
• Maintain accurate and organized loan files and documentation.

• Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or in a similar role within the financial industry.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending principles, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations such as FICA, National Credit Act.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in mortgage underwriting software and loan origination systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
