About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst specializing in Corporate Banking to join their team in Soweto . This role is integral to assessing the financial health and creditworthiness of corporate clients, ensuring prudent lending practices and effective risk management. You will analyze complex financial data, evaluate loan proposals, and provide recommendations to senior credit officers and loan committees. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capabilities, a thorough understanding of corporate finance, and the ability to contribute to sound lending decisions within a traditional, office-based operational model.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of corporate clients, including financial statement review, ratio analysis, and cash flow projections.
- Evaluate loan requests, assess credit risk, and determine appropriate credit structures and terms.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums and present recommendations to credit committees.
- Monitor assigned corporate loan portfolio, identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with loan covenants.
- Stay informed about industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting corporate lending.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to support client needs and new business development.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis, corporate finance, or a similar role within banking.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, corporate finance principles, and credit underwriting techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial analysis software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple assignments in a demanding environment.
