Our client, a significant entity in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a diligent and experienced Financial Controller to manage their financial operations in Soweto, Gauteng . This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data and provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of the financial landscape within the Soweto business community and the broader Gauteng region, ensuring robust financial governance and driving fiscal responsibility throughout the organization.
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management to support business growth and profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is essential.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably within the FMCG industry .
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and corporate finance principles.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
