About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Specialist to join their hybrid team in Soweto. You will focus on developing and implementing NLP models and solutions to enable machines to understand and process human language. This role is central to advancing our capabilities in text analysis, sentiment analysis, chatbots, and language translation. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build sophisticated NLP features that enhance our products and services, working in an environment that values innovation and practical application.

• Develop, train, and fine-tune NLP models for tasks such as text classification, named entity recognition, and question answering.
• Implement advanced NLP techniques, including deep learning models (e.g., Transformers, LSTMs).
• Process and analyze large volumes of text data to extract meaningful insights.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate NLP models into applications and platforms.
• Evaluate and benchmark NLP model performance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in the field of NLP.

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing.
• Proficiency in Python and NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of linguistic principles and text data preprocessing.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) is a significant advantage.
