Cybersecurity Analyst - SOC

Our client is seeking a diligent Cybersecurity Analyst to join their Security Operations Center (SOC) team in Soweto . This on-site role is fundamental to the continuous monitoring and defense of the organization's network and systems. You will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security threats in real-time, ensuring the swift containment of incidents and the protection of sensitive data.

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security tools.
• Investigate potential security incidents, performing initial triage and analysis.
• Respond to security alerts according to established procedures, documenting all actions taken.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior analysts or incident response teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the threat landscape and common attack vectors.
• Contribute to the improvement of SOC processes and playbooks.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, preferably within a SOC environment.
• Familiarity with security concepts, network protocols, and common cybersecurity threats.
• Experience using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret security data effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
