Senior Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Soweto . This is an on-site position where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, stability, and security of servers, networks, and related systems. You will play a key role in system upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices for IT operations.

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and manage system backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address potential issues.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system and network-related problems.
• Ensure the security of IT systems through regular patching, updates, and security best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
• Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware , Hyper-V ).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell , Bash ) for automation.
