Senior DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Our client is a rapidly expanding technology firm at the forefront of cloud-native solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Soweto, Gauteng. This role is critical for designing, building, and maintaining our scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure. You will play a key role in automating deployment pipelines, enhancing system performance, and ensuring the security and availability of our platforms.

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.
• Automate operational tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application deployment issues.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment cycles.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices and implement security controls within the cloud environment.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and resolution.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Dev Ops or SRE role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, CircleCI) and concepts.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, system administration, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment based in Soweto, Gauteng.
