Procurement Buyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Procurement Buyer to join their purchasing team in Soweto . This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchasing activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices. You will manage purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, and maintain accurate records. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the operational efficiency of a growing company within the Gauteng region.

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotes, and compare offers based on price, quality, and delivery times.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and manage supplier interactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their needs and provide procurement support.

• Previous experience as a Procurement Buyer , Purchasing Assistant, or similar role.
• Good understanding of purchasing procedures and supply chain basics.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in a relevant field is a plus.
