Our client, a leader in the FMCG sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team in Soweto . This role is critical for sourcing and managing the supply of raw materials, packaging, and other essential goods required for our production processes. You will be responsible for identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials.

The successful candidate will play a key part in optimizing the supply chain and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, packaging, and other supplies in line with company quality and cost standards.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, conducting due diligence and building strong vendor relationships.
  • Manage existing supplier contracts, ensuring adherence to terms and performance expectations.
  • Monitor market trends and commodity prices to secure the best possible pricing and supply conditions.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and effective inventory management.
  • Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procurement policies and relevant industry regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the FMCG industry .
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing strategies and supply chain best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
