Plant Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client, a major industrial manufacturing company, is seeking a diligent and experienced Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team in Soweto . This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility by overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance, including equipment upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs. You will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the plant maintenance team, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee the implementation and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and Health and Safety regulations.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely and effective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability of critical components.
• Collaborate with production management to align maintenance schedules with production needs and optimize operational efficiency.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is advantageous for managing operations in Soweto .
