Sports Facilities Technician

Our client requires a diligent and skilled Sports Facilities Technician to maintain their athletic grounds and facilities in Soweto . This hands-on role is essential for ensuring that all sports venues are safe, well-maintained, and ready for use by athletes and the community. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of sports fields, courts, and related infrastructure.

This is a vital role supporting local sports and ensuring a high-quality experience for all users.

• Perform regular maintenance and groundskeeping duties for sports fields, including mowing, aeration, and fertilization.
• Conduct routine inspections of sports facilities, identifying and addressing any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
• Carry out minor repairs and upkeep of sports equipment, fencing, and other infrastructure.
• Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all sports areas and associated buildings.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping machinery and tools safely and efficiently.

• Previous experience in facility maintenance , groundskeeping, or a related trade, preferably in a sports context.
• Knowledge of groundskeeping best practices and equipment operation.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safe and functional facilities.
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, or carpentry is an advantage.
