Drilling Operations Manager

Our client is looking for a dynamic Drilling Operations Manager to lead their drilling execution strategy for projects based in and around Soweto . This executive-level role encompasses the overall management and supervision of all drilling operations, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, team leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with service providers and regulatory bodies.

This is a critical leadership role driving operational success in the Gauteng region's energy sector.

• Oversee the planning, execution, and supervision of all drilling campaigns.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance drilling efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage and mentor the drilling engineering and rig personnel teams.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with drilling contractors and service providers.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 6 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and operational best practices.
• Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure environments.
• Strong understanding of contract management and supply chain logistics.
