Aviation Operations Manager

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aviation Operations Manager to lead and oversee all operational aspects of their aviation services based in Soweto . This senior role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all flight operations, ground handling, and related support services. You will manage a diverse team, optimize resource allocation, develop operational strategies, and ensure adherence to the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a leadership position for an individual with a strong background in aviation management, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement within a complex aviation environment.

• Direct and manage all day-to-day aviation operations, including flight scheduling, dispatch, ground operations, and fleet management.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant aviation regulations, airworthiness standards, and company policies.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for financial optimization.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of aviation professionals, fostering a culture of performance, safety, and collaboration.
• Oversee the procurement and maintenance of operational equipment and assets, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
• Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders on operational matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
  Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in aviation operations management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex aviation operations and leading teams.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA), operational procedures, and safety management systems.
• Strong financial acumen and experience with operational budgeting and cost control.
