About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer to join their production facility in Soweto . This role is focused on enhancing production efficiency and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet company goals for output, quality, and cost. You will be responsible for analyzing current operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing practical solutions that drive tangible results. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of industrial engineering principles, a hands‑on approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a dynamic production environment.
This position requires full‑time on‑site dedication.
- Analyze production line performance, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for waste reduction.
- Develop and implement process improvements, including layout changes, workflow optimizations, and equipment upgrades.
- Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and productivity analysis to enhance operational output.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Work closely with production supervisors and operators to implement changes and provide training and support.
- Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and report on key performance indicators to management.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with production teams.
- Experience with process mapping and simulation tools is beneficial.
