About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Painter to join their reputable collision repair center in Soweto . You will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, mixing paints to precise specifications, and applying paint finishes that meet high-quality standards. This role is critical in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition and ensuring customer satisfaction with the final appearance. You will work closely with auto body technicians to ensure seamless repairs and a flawless finish.
The ideal candidate has a keen eye for color matching, a strong understanding of paint application techniques, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient painting environment.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking.
- Mix paint colors to accurately match existing vehicle finishes, using color-matching systems.
- Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats evenly and efficiently using spray equipment.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform necessary rework to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Maintain painting equipment, booths, and the overall work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and environmental guidelines related to paint usage and disposal.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Painter or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of surface preparation, priming, and painting techniques.
- Proficiency in using automotive paint mixing systems and color-matching tools.
- Experience with various types of automotive paints, primers, and clear coats.
- Ability to operate and maintain spray guns and painting booths.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations in the painting process.
