About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Volunteer Coordinator to join their team in Soweto. This role is essential for managing and supporting the organization's volunteer program, ensuring a positive and productive experience for all volunteers who contribute to our client's mission in the Charity & Voluntary sector. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and retaining volunteers, as well as providing ongoing support and recognition.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote administrative tasks with essential in-person coordination and engagement within the Soweto community, fostering strong volunteer relationships and ensuring operational needs are met.

• Recruit, screen, and onboard new volunteers, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
• Develop and deliver orientation and training programs for volunteers.
• Schedule volunteers for various events, programs, and daily operations.
• Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to volunteers.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and manage volunteer databases.
• Liaise with program staff to identify volunteer needs and ensure effective placements.

• Experience in volunteer management, coordination, or a related role, preferably within the Charity & Voluntary sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse individuals.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in using volunteer management software and office productivity tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote duties with on-site responsibilities.
