About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior HSE Advisor to join their operations in Soweto . This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all company activities within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting site inspections, and providing expert advice to management and employees.
This position requires a proactive and knowledgeable professional committed to fostering a strong safety culture and minimizing operational risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
- Investigate HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on all HSE-related matters.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee involvement in HSE initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE professional, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry best practices.
- Certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong auditing, investigation, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
