Senior Neuroscientist - Cognitive Research

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Neuroscientist to lead cognitive research initiatives in Soweto . This role is critical for advancing our understanding of brain function, cognition, and neurological disorders through innovative experimental and computational approaches. You will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects, analyzing complex neuroimaging and behavioral data, mentoring junior researchers, and contributing to high-impact publications.

• Design and execute experiments investigating cognitive processes, neural circuits, and their underlying mechanisms.
• Utilize neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI, EEG, MEG) and behavioral paradigms to study brain function in health and disease.
• Analyze large datasets from neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral studies using advanced statistical and computational methods.
• Develop and implement novel experimental designs and analytical approaches to address complex neuroscience questions.
• Collaborate with clinicians, psychologists, and computational scientists to integrate findings and advance translational research.
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and contribute to grant proposals and publications.

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-doctoral research experience in cognitive neuroscience or a related area.
• Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and data analysis for cognitive neuroscience research.
• Proficiency with neuroimaging analysis software (e.g., SPM, FSL, AFNI) and statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
• Experience with behavioral data collection and analysis.
• Strong publication record in leading peer-reviewed journals and evidence of successful grant writing.
