About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Research Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology to join their innovative research team in Soweto . This position is integral to advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic strategies. You will be responsible for designing and executing a variety of molecular biology experiments, including gene cloning, expression analysis, and cell-based assays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, a keen scientific mind, and a passion for contributing to cutting-edge biomedical research.

- Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR , qPCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
- Design and construct expression vectors for gene delivery and manipulation.
- Conduct experiments to investigate gene function and regulation in cellular models.
- Develop and optimize cell-based assays for drug screening and target validation.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare reports, and present findings to the research team.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology research setting.
- Proficiency in a broad range of molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid isolation, cloning, and gene expression analysis.
- Experience with cell culture techniques and cell-based assay development.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in experimental execution and data interpretation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
