About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated AI Ethics Researcher to contribute to the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies in Soweto . This role involves conducting in-depth research into the ethical implications of AI, including bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential ethical risks and develop practical solutions to mitigate them. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in ethics, philosophy, computer science, or a related field, coupled with a passion for ensuring AI benefits society equitably and responsibly.

• Conduct rigorous research on ethical challenges posed by AI technologies.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Ethics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics.
• 2+ years of research experience in AI ethics or a related area.
• Strong understanding of core AI/ML concepts and their societal impact.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and research skills.
• Ability to communicate complex ethical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with research methodologies and academic writing.
