Research Scientist - Nanotechnology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and dedicated Research Scientist to join their advanced Nanotechnology research and development team in Soweto . This role focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of novel nanomaterials for cutting-edge technological advancements. You will be instrumental in designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex data, and contributing to groundbreaking discoveries in a collaborative and dynamic research environment located in the heart of Gauteng .

The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible with nanoscale materials.

• Synthesize and fabricate various types of nanomaterials using advanced techniques.
• Characterize the physical, chemical, and electronic properties of synthesized nanomaterials using a range of analytical tools.
• Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of nanomaterials in specific applications (e.g., sensors, energy storage, biomedical).
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and interpret results to guide further research.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and other scientists, to integrate nanomaterial solutions into new products.
• Document research findings, prepare technical reports, and contribute to scientific publications and patent applications.

• Ph.D. in Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in nanomaterial synthesis and characterization techniques (e.g., TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD, spectroscopy).
• Strong understanding of the principles governing the behavior of materials at the nanoscale.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex research projects and troubleshoot experimental issues.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific dissemination.
