About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Research Scientist with expertise in Genomics to join their innovative research division in Soweto . - Design and implement next-generation sequencing (NGS) experiments for various genomic applications.
- Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic datasets, including whole-genome sequencing, exome sequencing, and RNA-Seq data.
- Develop and refine bioinformatics pipelines for genomic data processing and analysis.
- Identify genetic variants, perform association studies, and uncover biological mechanisms underlying diseases or traits.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to integrate genomic findings with other biological data.
- Contribute to scientific publications and present research findings at conferences.
- Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in genomics or a related area.
- Strong hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and library preparation.
- Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for genomic data analysis.
- Solid understanding of statistical genetics and population genetics principles.
