About the Role
Our client is seeking a savvy and trend-aware Retail Buyer to join their dynamic team, supporting operations in Soweto and surrounding areas. This hybrid role is instrumental in curating the product assortment that resonates with customers and drives sales across the company's retail channels. You will be responsible for identifying market trends, sourcing merchandise, negotiating with suppliers, and managing inventory levels to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.

- Identify emerging market trends and customer preferences to inform product selection.
- Source and evaluate new suppliers, negotiating terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and manage the product assortment plan to meet sales targets and margin goals.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with operations teams to optimize stock flow and minimize markdowns.
- Analyze sales data, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine buying strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.
- Proven experience as a Retail Buyer or Merchandiser, with a strong portfolio.
- Deep understanding of product sourcing, negotiation, and merchandise planning.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in retail inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
