Retail Loss Prevention Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and observant Retail Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard their assets and minimize shrinkage in the Soweto area. This role is responsible for deterring theft, investigating suspicious activities, and implementing security measures to protect merchandise, cash, and property. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure retail environment for both customers and employees in Gauteng .

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of retail security protocols.

• Monitor sales floor activities to detect and prevent theft and fraud.
• Conduct investigations into suspected instances of internal and external theft.
• Apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.
• Review security camera footage to identify and document suspicious behavior.
• Implement and maintain all loss prevention programs and procedures.
• Conduct regular security checks and audits of store operations to identify vulnerabilities.

• Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or law enforcement is required.
• Knowledge of retail security techniques and investigative procedures.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for reporting and interviewing.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
