Mine Security Manager

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Mine Security Manager to oversee the security operations for their facilities located in and around Soweto, Gauteng. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to protect company assets, personnel, and operations from theft, vandalism, and other security threats. You will lead a team of security personnel, manage security systems, and liaise with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure working environment.

This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site supervision and strategic planning from an office base, ensuring robust security measures are in place across the mining sites and associated infrastructure.

• Develop and implement site-specific security policies, procedures, and contingency plans.
• Manage and train on-site security personnel, ensuring efficient deployment and performance.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarms.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and liaise with law enforcement and legal departments.
• Ensure the safety and security of all personnel, assets, and operational areas.
• Manage security budgets and procure necessary security equipment and services.

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in security management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the mining industry or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing security protocols and risk management plans.
• Knowledge of security technologies (CCTV, access control, perimeter security).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
