About the Role
Our client is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Community Child Support Worker to serve families in the Soweto area. This role involves providing direct support to children and their families, helping to address challenges related to development, well-being, and access to resources. You will work within the community to build trust, offer guidance, and connect families with essential services. This position requires a proactive approach and a deep understanding of the unique needs of the community served.
- Provide direct support and guidance to children and families within the community.
- Assist families in accessing relevant social services, educational programs, and health resources.
- Conduct home visits and community outreach to build relationships and assess needs.
- Facilitate group activities and workshops focused on child development and family well-being.
- Advocate for the needs of children and families within the community.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, services provided, and progress.
- Experience in social work, community development, or a related field, with a focus on children and families.
- Strong understanding of child development and the challenges faced by at-risk children.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build trust within the community.
- Proficiency in connecting families with available resources and services.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is an asset.
